Get to know me...

 I have a dry sense of humor and I like to make "to-do” lists. I love science (microbiology is my favorite).   In my car I usually listen to NPR or country music.  When I am not working I enjoy being with my family, trying new recipes, canning fruits and vegetables, playing and coaching soccer, and travelling. Why is all of this important to know?  There are thousands of real estate brokers in the Portland Metro area. Finding someone you feel like you can connect with via an internet search can seem overwhelming.  Sound bites get old and bios can be boring. I strive to provide a refreshing change.  

Why real estate?

 I love the process and helping people.  As the largest financial transaction most people make in their lives, purchasing or selling a home is a BIG DEAL!  There are many twists and turns.  Without the proper information it can easily be an unpleasant and confusing experience.  I want my clients to feel informed and empowered. If it seemed 'easy' at the end then I feel like I have done my job. My passion shows: I have been recognized as a top 10% producer in my company and also selected by Portland Monthly magazine as a 5 Star Realtor.

Life before real estate.

Before entering real estate I received Bachelors of Science degrees from both the University of California at Berkeley and Oregon Health Sciences University.   I enjoyed over 10 years working in medical laboratories as a technologist before looking for a new challenge in 2005 when I began my real estate career.

Who are my clients?

 The majority (98%, in fact) are referrals from colleagues, friends and former clients and they run the spectrum from first time buyers to investors. I often help clients sell a home that I helped them purchase and then find them a new home. I’ve helped clients through difficult situations in which they have had to sell their home. I’ve helped clients “move-up” and/or “scale down” with their homes. Some have lots of money, others are on a limited budget.  Some clients are very nervous about the process, others take it in stride.  My goal is to cater my service so that each one of my clients feels that they are being taken care of. 

 For my buyers, I aim to be a true advocate for clients.  I am honest and give pro and cons to consider when choosing a new home. I encourage patience.  I want my clients to be prepared to purchase a home but never feel rushed into making a decision.  Even in our fast paced market there is time to pause and take a deep breath before making a decision.

 For my sellers, I pride myself on identifying a competitive market value that will get my clients the most out of their home in any market conditions.  I ensure your home is show ready; properly preparing a house to sell is as important as determining its market value.  I create an individualized marketing plan that helps clients prepare their home in order to obtain top value.
